The smell is very clean – flour, bread, sweet bun. Oily in the mouth, sweet and tart like grapes, bread with raisins, tasty baked bread crust. The finish is long and tasty – sweetness, bitterness, sourness – baked bread crust, but also a hint of citrus, albedo and grapes.

This series of barley okowita (aqua vitae) was sourced from Mateusz Grenia – Milanów, Radcze 83. Mateusz belongs to the latest generation of passionate farmers running a family farm in eastern Poland. He processes all the produce from his land himself, producing excellent cold-pressed oils, healthy fruit snacks, and flours. Such an approach is very much in tune with our philosophy. Barley requires high-quality soils and is used in the production of beer and whisky. It has a mild, nutty flavour … and so does our Okowita.
